- General Purpose
- With minimal supervision, purchase items, materials or services of a technical nature customized to company specification and delivery requirements. Expedite work, vendors, and may locate/promote new vendor sources.
Job Description
- Major Responsibilities
- ? Purchase and expedite for timely delivery of material parts and services as required.
- ? Vendor selection may include visiting vendor facilities.
- ? Confer with other departments as needed for technical assistance in resolving purchasing issues.
- ? Evaluate invoice charges as required.
- ? Coordinate purchasing related activities involving routing, shipping and receiving of parts and
- materials.
- ? Maintain appropriate records including encumbrance and company owned tooling stored or used
- by vendors.
- Knowledge and Skills Desired
- ? Bachelor’s degree in engineering or business or equivalent education is required.
- ? Proficient/Advanced skills with MS Excel and ERP (SAP)
- ? 1-3 years’ experience as a buyer for a manufacturing company.
- ? Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting
- ? Understanding SOX requirements and internal controls
- ? Strong attention to detail
- ? Consistently able to meet reporting deadlines
- ? Ability to problem solve and work independently
- ? Strict work ethic
- ? Strong leadership skills
- ? Language skill is most preferred, communicating with customers
